# Create Bed

### Overview

This API creates a new **IPD bed** for your workspace. A bed belongs to a room; pass `room` with a room id from [Create Room](/api-reference/doc-tool/ipd-api/rooms/create-room) to place the bed in that room.

Only `name` is required. The bed `id` and `updatedAt` are server-generated. Fields not listed in the request body are rejected.
