It is a partial update: only the fields sent in the request body are changed, and fields that are omitted keep their current value. **To delete a note**, send `archived: true`. The note is archived (not removed) and the user making the request is recorded in `archived_by_oid`, `archived_by_name` and `archived_at`. Sending `archived: false` has no effect, so an archived note cannot be restored.
